Cromer Gull

Sanderson Home Fabrics FabricSAF0251-02

Cromer Gull has a calm, coastal feel, with pale lobster motifs spaced across a soft gull-grey ground. The design reads fresh and airy, with just enough detail in the stitch-like markings to give the pattern character.

About this fabric

This Sanderson Home Fabrics textile is supplied as a 140 cm usable width fabric with a 44.5 cm vertical repeat and a 69 cm horizontal repeat, making the motif spacing a key part of the design. At 252 gsm and 38 threads per cm, it sits in a versatile mid-weight range that can work for upholstery or drapery. The ground is a cool, misty grey with a subtle woven texture, while the lobster motifs are picked out in pale ivory and white so they stand gently off the surface rather than shouting for attention. The overall effect is crisp, light and tailored, with the colourway feeling more coastal chalk than blue-grey.

How to use it

Use it on accent chairs, ottomans or relaxed curtains where the soft grey ground can sit beside white-painted timber and weathered woods. It also works well in rooms that need a quiet pattern without losing the freshness of the pale motif.

The cool grey ground keeps the pale lobster motif crisp and easy to pair with oak, linen and chalky neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
