Hector Ochre

Islay Wools FabricSAF0262-04

Hector in Ochre is a warm, softly textured herringbone that reads as muted gold with a dry, woolly finish. The small-scale weave gives the swatch a gentle, tailored rhythm rather than a high-contrast pattern.

About this fabric

This colourway sits in a muted ochre-gold range, with sandy beige notes and a slightly heathered surface that softens the overall effect. The visible herringbone weave is finely worked, and the pattern repeat of 18.9 cm vertical and 4.5 cm horizontal keeps the design orderly and understated. At 372 gsm with 27.5 threads per cm and a usable width of 141 cm, it has the substance expected of a practical wool fabric. The tone feels warm and natural rather than brash, making the cloth read as grounded and versatile.

How to use it

Use Hector Ochre on an armchair, banquette or loose-cover cushions where its warm, sun-baked tone can add depth without overpowering the room. It pairs especially well with oak, aged brass and chalky neutrals, or with deeper greens for a richer country interior.

A warm ochre tweed that brings a grounded, softly tailored feel to classic seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
