Hector Russet

Islay Wools FabricSAF0262-06

Hector Russet has a warm, earthy terracotta tone with a fine herringbone-like weave that gives the surface quiet movement. The colour reads as softened russet rather than bright orange, with a dry woolly finish that feels tailored and substantial.

About this fabric

From the Islay Wools collection by Sanderson, this fabric has a usable width of 141 cm and a substantial 372 gsm weight, making it well suited to hard-wearing interior use. The 27.5 threads per cm construction creates a close, refined surface, while the 18.9 cm vertical repeat and 4.5 cm horizontal repeat sit within the woven texture rather than reading as a bold pattern. In this colourway, the russet base is muted and warm, with coppery and cinnamon undertones that deepen in the weave. The result is a smart, grounded wool look that feels rich without becoming glossy or heavy-handed.

How to use it

Use Hector Russet to bring warmth to upholstered dining chairs, a compact sofa or a window seat where the terracotta tone can sit against timber and bronze. It also works well with cream walls and olive or tobacco accents for a layered, autumnal room scheme.

Pairs well with oak, tan leather and deep olive accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
