Hector Chasm

Islay Wools FabricSAF0262-05

Hector Chasm reads as a cool, muted seafoam green with a softly heathered surface and fine herringbone texture. The pattern is subtle rather than bold, giving the cloth a tailored, understated look.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Islay Wools collection has a usable width of 141 cm and a substantial 372gsm handle, which suits it well to upholstery. The woven surface shows a small-scale herringbone check, with the vertical repeat of 18.9 cm and horizontal repeat of 4.5 cm keeping the pattern neat and disciplined. In this colourway, the blue-green ground is softened by greyed yarns, so the design feels cool, calm and slightly coastal rather than bright or crisp. The texture catches the light gently, adding depth without making the pattern feel busy.

How to use it

Use Hector Chasm on an armchair, bench or banquette where its muted green tone can sit quietly with oak, pale timber and stone. It also works nicely in relaxed layered schemes with off-white linens and deeper blue accents.

A softly weathered green with a tailored herringbone feel for easy layering.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hector Chasm without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
