About this fabric

Woven in Sanderson’s Islay Wools collection, Hector Fig has a substantial feel at 372 gsm and a usable width of 141 cm, making it well suited to upholstery work. The herringbone pattern is small and closely spaced, with a 18.9 cm vertical repeat and 4.5 cm horizontal repeat that keep the surface orderly and tailored. In this colourway, the plum base is softened by brown and heathered violet notes, so the fabric looks rich without becoming bright or glossy. The weave catches the light in fine diagonal ridges, which adds texture rather than shine and helps the pattern stay subtle from a distance.

How to use it

Use Hector Fig to give an armchair, sofa or dining seat a restrained but characterful finish. Its dusky plum tone pairs well with oak, walnut, brushed brass and warm neutrals, especially where you want depth without heavy contrast.

A refined wool look that brings a tailored, quietly rich finish to seating or occasional pieces.
