Alchemy Mauve

Alchemy Fabric

Alchemy Mauve reads as a soft, dusty purple with a gentle silvery cast and a lightly textured surface. The fabric catches the light with a subtle sheen that shifts across the folds in the swatch.

About this fabric

This colourway shows a muted mauve-purple ground with darker shadowed movement where the light falls away, giving the cloth a softly moiré-like depth. The visible surface has a fine, tactile texture rather than a flat finish, which helps the shade feel refined and slightly lustrous. Made from 56% cotton and 44% polyester, it balances a natural handle with practical stability, and the 140cm width makes it straightforward for larger soft-furnishing projects. With no pattern repeat, the design is easy to plan across cushions, curtains or upholstered pieces without worrying about motif matching.

How to use it

Pair this dusty mauve with pale plaster, warm grey or deep aubergine for a layered scheme that keeps the colour feeling elegant. Its subdued sheen works especially well on shaped upholstery, or as drapery where the folds can show off the tonal movement.

A muted mauve with a subtle lustre that suits tailored upholstery or elegant drapery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Alchemy Mauve without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
