About this fabric

Kensington Aubergine from the Brodsworth collection by Fryett's Fabrics is a 100% polyester fabric with a 140cm width and no pattern repeat, making it straightforward to cut and use. The swatch reads as a deep aubergine-plum shade, with low, even sheen and a slightly brushed or woven look that softens the darkness of the colour. Fine horizontal striations are visible in the surface, giving the fabric a restrained sense of movement without introducing a printed motif. The overall effect is smart and moody rather than bright, with the colour appearing almost black in shadow and richer purple where the light catches it.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an upholstered armchair, headboard, or banquette where its deep plum tone can add depth without looking flashy. It pairs especially well with warm wood, brass, and soft neutrals that lift the dark surface.

A rich dark tone that works well on tailored seating or accent pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
