Elysian Fig

Elysian Fabrics FabricSAF0257-01

Elysian Fig shows a dreamy painted landscape that feels airy and expansive, with misty sky bands between rolling hills and wooded slopes. The Fig colourway reads in soft lavender, blush and sage tones, giving the design a calm, slightly romantic character.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 138 cm and a substantial 344 gsm weight, so it sits comfortably in the mid-to-heavy range for interior use. The design repeats in broad horizontal scenes, with an 84 cm vertical repeat and 68 cm horizontal repeat, which is reflected in the wide painted hills and cloud-like bands visible in the swatch. In Elysian Fig, the palette is delicately washed rather than saturated: lavender hills, muted rose accents, pale green tree clusters and a cool, milky sky give the fabric a softened, atmospheric look. The surface reads smooth rather than plush, with enough body to support both upholstery and drapery applications where the full panorama can be appreciated.

How to use it

Pair Elysian Fig with chalky neutrals, pale timber and brushed brass to keep the palette light and elevated. It works especially well on occasional chairs, bedroom curtains or a feature bench where the landscape repeat can be seen across a wider span.

Use for statement upholstery or relaxed drapery where the painterly landscape can breathe.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
