About this fabric
Dahlia and Rosehip Velvet is a Sanderson design from the Elysian Fabrics collection, and this colourway uses a deep teal ground to throw the flowers into crisp relief. The velvet surface gives the printed petals a softly light-catching finish, while the 416 gsm weight and 57.7 threads per cm point to a substantial cloth with a dense hand. With a usable width of 134 cm and a generous 62 cm vertical by 66 cm horizontal repeat, the design reads as a strong statement pattern rather than a small-scale scatter. The russet, coral, cream and pale gold flowers feel warmer against the cool teal background, creating a saturated but balanced palette.
How to use it
Use it on an accent chair, ottoman or a pair of cushions where the deep teal ground can anchor a room. It works especially well with walnut, aged brass and warm ivory finishes, which echo the russet and cream tones in the print.
Pair with warm woods and relaxed neutrals to let the floral palette glow.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Dahlia and Rosehip Velvet Teal/Russet (Velvet) without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
