About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a usable width of 134 cm, a 62 cm vertical repeat and a 66 cm horizontal repeat, so the floral clusters repeat with a deliberate, decorative rhythm across the cloth. At 416 gsm and 57.7 threads per cm, it has the substance expected of a proper upholstery velvet, with enough body to hold its lush printed detail. In this colourway, mulberry and rose pinks sit against a cool greyed ground, while teal and olive leaves stop the palette from feeling overly sweet. The overall effect is elegant and slightly romantic, with the velvet surface giving the flowers a soft depth as the light moves across them.

How to use it

This colourway works well on an accent chair, ottoman or occasional headboard where the mulberry blooms can be seen up close. Pair it with chalky paint colours, aged brass and natural timber to balance the cool grey ground.

Use with quiet plains and warm woods to let the painterly flowers take centre stage.
