About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a strong, tactile surface with the rich depth you would expect from a 570gsm cloth and 79 threads per cm. The colourway reads as a saturated blackcurrant purple, with near-black shadows and brighter magenta-plum flashes where the pile lifts. Its abstract vertical movement gives the surface a streaked, brushed appearance that feels bold and opulent rather than flat. With a usable width of 140 cm and a 70 cm horizontal repeat, it is well suited to dramatic upholstery projects that need both colour impact and a luxurious handle.

How to use it

Use this blackcurrant tone on an occasional chair, banquette, or cushions where the light can pick out the velvet sheen. It pairs well with brass, walnut, and smoky neutrals for a moody, layered room scheme.
