About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a substantial 570 gsm weight and a usable width of 140 cm, making it a confident choice for statement upholstery. The surface shows a dense, plush pile with strong vertical streaking, where dark coffee and near-black marks break up the warmer brown ground. With a 70 cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat, the design reads as a broad, textural stripe rather than a small-scale motif. The 79 threads per cm support the fabric’s rich, tightly built feel, while the finish in this colourway feels deep, warm and slightly burnished.

How to use it

Use Icaria Chocolate on an armchair, banquette or headboard where its dark brown depth can anchor the room. It works especially well with camel, tobacco and antique metal finishes, which pick up the velvet’s warm highlights.

Pair with tan leather and aged brass for a rich, layered scheme.
