Melford Chesnut

Melford Weaves FabricSAF0338-13

Melford Chesnut is a tightly woven herringbone with a calm, softly variegated chestnut-beige surface. The narrow zigzag grain gives the colourway gentle movement without losing its neat, tailored character.

About this fabric

This Sanderson Fabric has a usable width of 138.5 cm, a standard length of 40 m, and a substantial 270 gsm weight, which supports upholstery use. The weave is finely detailed, with 88 threads per cm and a subtle 1.6 cm horizontal repeat that reads as a small-scale herringbone rather than a bold pattern. In this colourway, the chestnut notes sit over a warm beige ground, creating a muted, earthy finish that feels polished rather than rustic. The surface catches the light softly, so the pattern appears a touch lighter on the raised ridges and deeper in the recesses.

How to use it

Use this warm chestnut-beige on an armchair, banquette, or cushion scheme where you want texture without strong contrast. It pairs naturally with oak, tan leather, and softened off-whites for an easy smart look.

A compact herringbone in warm chestnut tones that suits tailored seating and classic accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
