Melford Fern
Melford Weaves FabricSAF0338-18
Melford Fern shows a finely woven herringbone in a fresh, pale fern green with a softly heathered look. The zigzag texture reads neatly and evenly across the cloth, giving the surface gentle movement rather than bold contrast.

About this fabric
This Sanderson fabric from the Melford Weaves collection has a usable width of 138.5 cm and a substantial 270gsm weight, making it feel reassuringly cloth-like in hand. The pattern repeats every 1.6 cm horizontally, creating a tight herringbone that stays delicate at a distance and becomes more textural up close. In this colourway, the green is light and leafy with a muted, airy finish rather than a strong jewel tone, so the weave catches the light softly. With no performance features noted, it is best chosen for interiors where the emphasis is on natural colour and a refined woven surface.
How to use it
Use Melford Fern on relaxed upholstered pieces, dining chairs or ottomans where its soft green will read calm and fresh. It also works well for curtains in rooms with timber, linen and pale paintwork, adding texture without darkening the scheme.
A fresh green herringbone that brings quiet texture to both upholstery and curtains.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Melford Fern without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
