About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a useable width of 138.5 cm and comes on a 40 m roll, making it practical for larger schemes. At 270 gsm, it has enough substance for upholstery while still sitting comfortably in drapery applications, so the classification of both suits its balanced handle. The woven herringbone effect reads as delicate vertical striping from a distance, while the close-up texture reveals a subtle 1.6 cm horizontal repeat. In this Mercury colourway, the yarns blend into a muted sage-green ground with a slightly silvery cast, giving the cloth a cool, restful character.

How to use it

Use Melford Mercury on an occasional chair, banquette or Roman blind where its pale sage tone can lift a room without looking stark. It pairs especially well with limestone, bleached timber and brushed nickel, echoing the fabric’s cool, understated finish.

A cool sage weave that feels calm and tailored in both seating and window settings.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
