Melford Forest

Melford Weaves FabricSAF0338-20

Melford Forest is a tightly woven teal cloth with a subtle herringbone-like chevron texture that reads crisp and tailored. The colour sits between green and blue, with a cool forest depth that softens slightly as the light catches the weave.

About this fabric

With a weight of 270gsm and 88 threads per cm, Melford Forest has the substantial handle and close surface you would expect from a fabric suited to upholstery. The 138.5cm usable width makes it practical for larger furniture runs, while the 1.6cm horizontal repeat keeps the pattern neat and rhythmic across the cloth. Visually, the small-scale weave creates a fine chevron effect in layered teal, with tiny tonal shifts that add depth without breaking up the colour. There are no performance features noted, so this is best chosen for its rich colour, texture and tailored finish.

How to use it

Use Melford Forest on a statement armchair, banquette or headboard where its cool green-blue tone can sit against walnut, brass or pale oak. It also works well with chalky neutrals and leafy interiors if you want a smart, grounded colour accent.

A refined teal weave that brings structure and colour without feeling loud.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Melford Forest without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
