Melford Burgundy
Melford Weaves FabricSAF0338-12
Melford Burgundy shows a fine herringbone-style weave with subtle vertical movement and a softly lustrous surface. The colour reads as a muted burgundy rose, warm and restrained rather than deep and heavy.

About this fabric
This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 138.5 cm and comes on a 40 m standard length, with a 270 gsm weight that gives it enough substance for upholstery. The pattern repeat is 1.6 cm horizontally with no vertical repeat, which keeps the small-scale chevron effect crisp and orderly across the cloth. In this colourway, the burgundy is softened by a dusty pink cast, so the weave feels gentler and lighter than a classic wine shade. The fine thread count creates a tight, textured surface that catches the light in narrow diagonal lines.
How to use it
Use it on an armchair, banquette or dining seat where the warm burgundy tone can add depth without looking severe. It pairs neatly with oak, aged brass and chalky neutrals, especially in rooms that need a richer accent with a tailored finish.
A refined burgundy weave with a soft rose cast that works well on tailored seating and cushions.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Melford Burgundy without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
