About this fabric

Fen Fareham Red from Sanderson’s Orwell Weaves collection is a substantial fabric with a usable width of 144 cm and a weight of 560 gsm, giving it the body you’d expect from an upholstery cloth. The weave reads as crisp and structured, with tiny square-like red marks set against a warm light ground so the surface feels animated rather than flat. Its 3 cm vertical and horizontal repeat keeps the pattern neatly ordered, while the high thread count of 57 threads per cm supports the dense, refined texture visible in the swatch. The colour sits between true red and coral, making it feel warmer and fresher than a deep burgundy or brick shade.

How to use it

Use this red on an armchair, ottoman or bench where the small repeat can be appreciated up close. It pairs well with oak, chalky neutrals and softer terracotta accents that echo its warm, sunlit tone.

A lively red weave that brings warmth and texture to compact upholstery pieces or statement cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
