About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Orwell Weaves collection has a substantial 414 gsm weight and a usable width of 140 cm, which suits it to upholstery-led schemes. The small geometric motif is set on a pale sandstone ground, with coral-terracotta lines and tiny speckled accents that soften the pattern’s zigzag rhythm. Its 8.5 cm vertical repeat and 24 cm horizontal repeat create a neat, compact surface that feels ordered without looking formal. With 56 threads per cm, the cloth has a tightly woven, textural finish that supports the sharp definition of the design. In this colourway, the overall effect is warm, dry and quietly vintage rather than bright or high-contrast.

How to use it

Use Sandstone on a bench, occasional chair or footstool where its warm, muted terracotta can add character without overwhelming the room. It sits especially well with oak, pale plaster walls and chalky neutrals, and can also soften darker timbers.
