Linden Russet

Orwell Weaves FabricSAF0211-10

Linden Russet shows a compact geometric weave in warm russet red set against a pale stone ground. The small repeat gives the design a crisp, ordered rhythm with a distinctly tailored feel.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric is catalogued as a Fabric with a usable width of 136.5 cm and a standard length of 35 m, making it suitable for planned upholstery work. At 570 gsm, it has the substantial, structured handle you would expect from a heavier woven cloth, and the 32 threads per cm help create the tight, defined surface visible in the image. The pattern repeat is modest at 2.9 cm vertically and 2.7 cm horizontally, so the small geometric motif reads as precise and regular rather than bold. In this colourway, the russet thread sits warmly against the lighter ground, giving the weave depth, contrast and a slightly heritage character.

How to use it

Use Linden Russet on an armchair, bench or ottoman where the small-scale pattern can be appreciated up close. Its warm red and stone palette sits well with oak, leather and neutral paint colours, adding definition without overpowering the room.

Pair with warm wood and linen to keep the rich russet pattern feeling tailored rather than heavy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
