About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Orwell Weaves collection is a substantial textile, weighing 570gsm with a usable width of 136.5 cm and a standard length of 35 m. The small repeat of 2.9 cm vertically and 2.7 cm horizontally keeps the repeating motif neatly scaled, so the pattern reads as an all-over texture rather than a bold statement design. In this colourway, the indigo ground looks cool and inky, while the lighter threads soften it with a slightly heathered, woven effect. The result is a smart, durable-looking cloth with enough visual movement to add depth without overpowering a room.

How to use it

Use Linden Indigo on an armchair, ottoman or bench where the small-scale geometry can be appreciated up close. It also works well against pale wood, plaster white or brushed metal, which helps the deep blue tone feel crisp rather than heavy.

Pair with pale oak and chalky neutrals to let the indigo pattern stay crisp and graphic.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
