About this fabric

This woven fabric from Sanderson’s Melford Weaves collection has a useful width of 144 cm and comes on a standard 40 m roll. The design has no vertical repeat and only a 1.9 cm horizontal repeat, which supports the orderly, continuous stripe effect visible in the swatch. At 428 gsm, it is a substantial cloth that suits hard-working upholstery, and the 104 threads per cm specification suggests a tightly made surface. In this colourway, the blue is cool and marine-led rather than bright, softened by narrow pale stripes that give the fabric a clean, slightly nautical rhythm.

How to use it

Use it on a pair of armchairs, banquette seating, or a tailored headboard where the vertical stripe can make the silhouette feel taller and sharper. The marine tone works especially well with white-painted joinery, weathered oak, and other clear blues and greys.
