About this fabric

Melford Stripe Mercury from Sanderson’s Melford Weaves collection is a substantial fabric at 428 gsm, with a 144 cm usable width and a neat 1.9 cm horizontal repeat. The cloth shows a soft cream base threaded with narrow silver-grey stripes, giving the surface a refined, almost chalky brightness. Its closely worked weave reads crisp and orderly, with just enough texture to stop the stripe from feeling flat. The 40 m standard length also makes it well suited to larger upholstery runs or coordinated room schemes.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a slipper chair, ottoman or bench to bring a fresh, tailored note without adding visual weight. It also works well with pale oak, brushed nickel and washed linen tones for a calm, polished interior.

A crisp, understated stripe that works beautifully on tailored seating and elegant blinds.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
