Lymington Damask White Clay

Lymington Damasks and Stripes FabricSAF0010-24

Lymington Damask White Clay shows a soft, tonal damask pattern that sits very gently against its creamy ground. The design reads as light and refined, with the floral motif only appearing through subtle contrast and sheen.

About this fabric

This colourway has a warm ivory base with a faint clay-beige cast, so the damask motif is present but understated rather than high contrast. The woven surface has a smooth, substantial handle that suits its 340gsm weight, while the 230 threads per cm specification suggests a closely worked cloth with a polished finish. With a usable width of 142 cm and a 42 cm vertical repeat by 36 cm horizontal repeat, it is well suited to patterned furnishings where the repeat can be matched cleanly. The overall effect is formal and calm, with the pattern emerging softly as the light moves across the surface.

How to use it

Use it for tailored curtains, a neat upholstered armchair, or a scheme that needs a pale damask without feeling stark. Its warm ivory-clay tone works especially well with aged brass, pale timber, and quiet neutrals.

A quietly elegant damask for polished interiors, with enough weight for upholstery and enough softness for full-length drapes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
