About this fabric

Helena Birch from Sanderson’s Melford Weaves collection is a plain fabric with no pattern repeat, making the texture and tone the focus of the design. At 220gsm and 34 threads per cm, it has enough substance for versatile furnishing use while still reading as a clean, even cloth. The colour is a warm, pale birch cream with a softly mottled woven appearance rather than a flat white, so it feels quieter and more grounded than a stark neutral. The 139cm usable width makes it practical for a range of interior projects, and the 30m standard length suits larger room schemes.

How to use it

Use this birch cream as a restrained base with pale oak, linen, and putty tones for a layered neutral scheme. Its soft warmth also works well beside darker timber or muted bronze accents, where the light woven surface will keep the room feeling open.

A quiet natural neutral that works well as a calming base across both upholstery and curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
