About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Melford Weaves collection is a substantial textile at 400 gsm, with a usable width of 138 cm and no pattern repeat. The close, regular weave gives the surface a crisp but tactile grain, and the indigo colouring reads as a subdued blue-grey rather than a bright navy. In the light, tiny flecks in the yarn catch subtly, creating a gently variegated finish across the cloth. With its weight and texture, it feels especially well suited to hard-working upholstered pieces that need visual depth without a strong pattern.

How to use it

Use Deben Indigo on an armchair, banquette or dining chairs to bring a calm, contemporary blue into the room. It pairs well with pale oak, chalky neutrals and brushed metal finishes, where the cooler indigo tone can hold its own.

A cool, textural blue that works neatly on tailored seating and cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
