Melford Chambray

Melford Weaves FabricSAF0338-28

Melford Chambray has a clean, airy blue ground with a finely woven herringbone effect that gives the swatch a subtle tailored feel. The pale chambray tone reads fresh and slightly washed, with a cool clarity rather than a strong saturated blue.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Melford Weaves collection is a substantial 270gsm textile, with a usable width of 138.5 cm and a 40 m standard length. The pattern repeat is minimal at 1.6 cm horizontally and 0 cm vertically, which lets the small-scale weave texture take the lead. Visually, the colour is a gentle chambray blue softened by white and misty grey threads, creating a lightly heathered surface that feels crisp but not stark. The fine herringbone structure gives it a neat, ordered appearance that suits both structured furniture and elegant window treatments.

How to use it

Use this soft blue on a slipper chair, bench or roman blind where the subtle weave can be appreciated up close. It pairs especially well with white woodwork, pale oak and stone-toned neutrals for a calm, coastal-influenced room.

A fresh chambray tone that works neatly in tailored curtains or easy upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
