Ayla Indigo/Chalk

Indoor Outdoor Weaves II OutdoorHAF0604-05

Ayla Indigo/Chalk combines a cool, deep indigo ground with closely spaced chalk-white dotted lines woven into horizontal bands. The small-scale pattern gives the swatch a crisp, quietly graphic character.

About this fabric

This outdoor fabric has a 140 cm usable width and a substantial 388 gsm construction, giving the woven surface a firm visual presence suited to upholstery. Fine chalk-coloured dashes form repeated horizontal rows across the indigo-blue ground, creating subtle contrast rather than a bold stripe. The pattern repeats every 7.5 cm vertically and 0.5 cm horizontally, so the surface reads as a finely textured, regular weave from a distance. Its 21 threads per centimetre help explain the neat, closely built appearance visible in the swatch.

How to use it

Use this cool indigo and chalk colourway on outdoor cushions, dining chairs or relaxed seating, pairing it with pale stone, white or weathered timber to highlight the fresh contrast. The restrained horizontal rhythm also works well where a room needs texture without a large motif.

Use this durable outdoor weave on seating where its cool indigo ground and chalk detailing can add crisp definition.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ayla Indigo/Chalk without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
