Serpa Indigo is a cool, muted blue with a gently mottled surface that gives the plain weave visual depth. The close-up texture reads understated and tactile rather than flat.

About this fabric

Porter & Stone’s Serpa in Indigo is a 137cm-wide fabric made from 64% polyester and 36% cotton, with a 35.5cm pattern repeat and AQW1< care instructions. In this colourway, the blue sits in a restrained indigo register, softened by tiny lighter flecks that keep the surface from feeling heavy or solid. The weave has a subtle nubby, semi-plain texture that catches the light unevenly, giving the cloth a lived-in, slightly heathered look. It feels smart and grounded, with enough body to suit a variety of interior applications.

How to use it

Use this indigo tone to anchor neutral schemes with depth, or pair it with pale oak and chalky whites for a crisp, contemporary contrast. It also layers well with denim blues, soft greys and natural linens.

A versatile indigo shade that works beautifully on tailored upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
