Lymington Damask Buttermilk

Lymington Damasks and Stripes FabricSAF0010-03

Lymington Damask Buttermilk shows a quiet, luminous cream ground with a barely-there damask pattern that lifts in the light. The tonal design reads soft and refined rather than contrasty, giving the swatch a gentle, polished presence.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 142 cm, a 42 cm vertical repeat and a 36 cm horizontal repeat, so the damask motif sits with a measured, classic rhythm across the cloth. At 340 gsm and with 230 threads per cm, it has a substantial, closely woven feel that suits tailored furniture. In this Buttermilk colourway, the pattern is worked tonally in pale ivory and warm cream, so the floral damask appears subtle and shaded rather than bold. The result is an elegant, light-catching surface that feels creamy, soft and comfortably traditional without looking heavy.

How to use it

Use this buttermilk tone on formal upholstery, dining chairs or a headboard where you want a calm, lifted cream rather than a stark white. It pairs especially well with warm woods, gilded finishes and layered neutrals.

A soft cream damask that brings a restrained, elegant glow to classic interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
