Orwell Weaves FabricSAF0211-03

Linden China Blue shows a compact geometric weave in a cool, softly faded blue and ivory palette. The small-scale pattern reads crisp and orderly, with a textured surface that feels tailored rather than ornate.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Orwell Weaves collection has a substantial 570gsm handle and a usable width of 136.5 cm, making it well suited to structured upholstery projects. The design uses a tight repeating geometric motif with a vertical repeat of 2.9 cm and a horizontal repeat of 2.7 cm, so the pattern stays neatly contained across the surface. In this colourway, the china blue thread sits against a pale ivory ground, creating a fresh but restrained contrast that feels slightly weathered and easy to live with. The weave has visible texture and depth, with the blue appearing cooler and greyer in the shadows and lighter where the cloth catches the light.

How to use it

Use it on an occasional chair, bench or cushions where the small-scale geometry can add order without dominating the room. The cool china blue works especially well with white woodwork, pale oak and other muted blue textiles.

A cool, woven blue that brings crisp structure to tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
