Hinton Putty

Orwell Weaves FabricSAF0446-04

Hinton Putty shows a compact chevron weave in a soft putty-beige ground with a slightly warmer thread running through the pattern. The small repeat gives the surface a tidy, refined rhythm rather than a bold geometric statement.

About this fabric

This Sanderson Orwell Weaves fabric has a usable width of 140 cm and a very small 1.5 cm vertical and horizontal repeat, so the pattern reads as a fine, tightly ordered texture across the cloth. At 841 gsm and 107 threads per cm, it has the substantial handle of a upholstery fabric, with enough body to suit seats, cushions and other hard-working pieces. The putty colourway is muted and gently warm, sitting between beige and pale taupe with a dry, chalky softness that keeps the chevron definition visible without looking contrasty. The weave catches the light in a subtle way, so the pattern gains depth from texture more than from colour. No performance finish is noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Hinton Putty on an armchair, banquette or headboard where its neat chevron can add quiet structure without dominating the room. It pairs well with oak, pale stone and darker accents when you want a grounded neutral with a little pattern detail.

A softly textured neutral that brings quiet structure to tailored interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hinton Putty without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
