Icaria Indigo

Icaria and Boho Velvets VelvetSAF0073-04

Icaria Indigo is a rich velvet with a dramatic, brushed vertical pattern that reads like weathered streaks of teal and midnight blue. The pile catches the light in darker and brighter bands, giving the surface real movement.

About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet is supplied with a usable width of 140 cm, a 70 cm horizontal repeat and a substantial 570 gsm weight, which supports its luxurious, upholstery-led feel. The image shows a deep indigo ground broken by cooler teal highlights and near-black vertical striations, creating a layered, almost stonewashed effect across the pile. With 79 threads per cm, the cloth presents a dense, refined surface that helps the colour look saturated rather than flat. The overall impression is cool, moody and highly tactile, with the sheen lifting the lighter blue-green notes as the fabric turns in the light.

How to use it

Use Icaria Indigo on an occasional chair, sofa or ottoman where the deep teal tone can read against timber, leather or aged brass. It also works beautifully in a dark, cocooning scheme with charcoal, ink and softened blue accents.

Pair with walnut, brass and clean-lined upholstery to let the moody sheen stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
