About this fabric

This Sanderson Islay Wools fabric is 140 cm wide and has a substantial 372 gsm weight, giving it the presence of a proper upholstery cloth. The surface shows a very small, regular weave with a 1.5 cm vertical and horizontal repeat, creating a subtle checked texture rather than a bold pattern. In this colourway, the blue sits in a muted grey register, so it feels cool and composed rather than bright or nautical. The compact weave and 27.5 threads per cm give the cloth a neat, dense finish that suits structured furniture.

How to use it

Use this blue-grey on a sofa, armchair or banquette where you want colour without heaviness; it pairs well with pale oak, chalky neutrals and deeper navy accents. The restrained tone also works neatly in modern country schemes that need a cooler, more tailored note.

A cool, versatile blue-grey that adds quiet depth to tailored upholstery and layered interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
