Fenton Check Caraway/Green

Islay Wools FabricSAF0259-05

Fenton Check Caraway/Green shows a neat country check softened by a woolly, tactile surface. The palette blends caraway green with creamy ground tones and warm taupe lines, giving it a gently weathered feel.

About this fabric

Part of Sanderson’s Islay Wools collection, this fabric is a substantial 383 gsm and has a usable width of 141 cm, making it well suited to tailored upholstery projects. The check is set on a small scale with a 15.8 cm vertical repeat and 15.5 cm horizontal repeat, so the pattern reads crisp and orderly rather than bold. In this colourway, the green is muted and herb-like, lifted by pale cream blocks and softened by grey-brown pinstripes that keep the overall effect calm. The visible weave has the matte, brushed character you would expect from a wool fabric, adding depth without any shine.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, banquette or cushions where the small check can add structure without overpowering the room. It sits beautifully with oak, painted timber and linen in chalky neutrals, especially in a relaxed cottage or modern country scheme.

Pairs easily with natural woods and muted neutrals for a cosy country look.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fenton Check Caraway/Green without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
