Nelson Marine

Linnean Weaves FabricSAF0293-03

Nelson Marine shows a crisp chevron weave in cool blue tones, with a tightly worked surface that reads neat and tailored. The pale blue ground lifts the darker marine lines, giving the pattern clear contrast without feeling heavy.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Linnean Weaves collection is a substantial textile, with a 585 gsm weight and a very dense 222 threads per cm, which gives the cloth a firm, closely woven handle. The 138 cm usable width makes it practical for upholstery work, while the 7 cm vertical and 5.8 cm horizontal repeats keep the chevron rhythm compact and orderly. In this colourway the blue sits between marine and coastal teal, softened by lighter threads so the design feels fresh rather than dark. The small-scale weave catches the light across each angled stripe, adding texture and movement to otherwise calm, even colour.

How to use it

Use Nelson Marine on an armchair, banquette or upholstered headboard where the small chevron can add structure without overpowering the room. Its cool blue tone pairs well with white, chalky neutrals and polished woods for a sharp, airy finish.

A crisp, tailored blue that suits clean-lined upholstery and refined cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
