Vintage Velvet Indigo
Vintage Velvets VelvetBF10700.680
Vintage Velvet Indigo is a richly shaded velvet in a deep indigo blue with a cool teal cast. Its softly mottled surface catches the light unevenly, giving the plain colour visible depth rather than a flat finish.

About this fabric
Made from 95% polyester and 5% viscose, this velvet is 137 cm wide and suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The swatch shows a dark, saturated blue-green tone with smoky charcoal variation across the pile. Subtle shifts from brighter teal-blue to near-black indigo make the surface feel atmospheric and tactile as the nap changes direction. With a 50,000 Martindale rub test, it is suited to hardworking upholstered pieces as well as decorative applications. Care is professional dry cleaning only; do not wash, bleach or iron.
How to use it
Use this cool indigo-teal shade on a deep buttoned chair, sofa or upholstered bed to create a dramatic focal point, then soften it with pale stone, warm timber or brushed brass. As curtains, its dark tone will frame a room with a cocooning, low-lit mood.
A deep, atmospheric velvet that brings saturated blue-green depth to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Pairs well with
Vintage Velvet Indigo is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
