Edessa Indigo
East To West FabricBF10710.4
Edessa Indigo presents a deep, cool indigo ground with repeating damask medallions picked out in closely related blue tones. The low-contrast palette gives the ornate pattern a shadowed, atmospheric depth.

About this fabric
The textile combines 18% viscose, 50% cotton and 32% polyester and is supplied at 138 cm wide. Its repeating pattern has a 43 cm vertical repeat and a 34.5 cm horizontal repeat, with large oval medallions alternating with smaller ornamental forms across the face. In this colourway, near-black blue outlines and muted mid-indigo details create a richly layered effect, while small blue highlights catch against the darker ground. Edessa Indigo is specified for curtains, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; it must not be washed, bleached or ironed and requires professional dry cleaning.
How to use it
Use Edessa Indigo to bring a cool, dramatic note to a classic room, particularly on a tailored chair, upholstered headboard or generous pair of curtains. Balance the deep blue with warm timber, aged brass or quiet stone upholstery so the tonal damask remains the focal point.
A dark, ornate indigo damask for tailored upholstery, full curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Edessa Indigo without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
