Rousseau Indigo/Green

Rousseau - Atmosphere VIII FabricJ0165-03

Rousseau Indigo/Green pairs a deep inky ground with painterly tropical foliage in blue, green and soft mineral tones. The pattern feels lush and layered, with the dark background making the leaves and fronds stand out sharply.

About this fabric

This Jane Churchill fabric is composed of 65% cotton, 18% viscose and 17% polyester, with an approximate width of 126cm and a vertical and horizontal repeat of 63cm. The swatch shows a dense botanical design set on a near-black indigo ground, lifted by cool blue leaves, olive-green foliage and pale blush accents. The surface reads like a richly worked woven cloth rather than a flat print, giving the pattern depth and a slightly textured look. With no performance finish noted, it is best considered for decorative upholstery where the bold repeat can be shown to advantage.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a statement chair, ottoman or banquette where the dark ground can ground the room and the blue-green palette can echo painted wood or aged brass. It also works beautifully as accent cushions against plain navy, moss or charcoal schemes.

A dramatic statement fabric for tailored upholstery or opulent cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
