Samphrey Check Silver/Grey

Islay Wools FabricSAF0270-03

Samphrey Check Silver/Grey shows a softly blurred tartan check in silver, grey and pale oatmeal tones. The woven pattern feels airy and layered, with the light ground lifting the darker stripes rather than forming a hard contrast.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Islay Wools collection has a useable width of 139 cm, a standard length of 54 m, a 30 cm vertical repeat and a 28 cm horizontal repeat. At 383 gsm and 27.5 threads per cm, it reads as a substantial wool fabric with enough body for structured interiors while still showing a refined woven handle. In this colourway the grey sits cool and chalky, softened by oatmeal and faint biscuit bands that keep the check from feeling stark. The visible texture is gently brushed and melange-like, giving the pattern a weathered, easy character rather than a crisp tailored finish.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, ottoman or bench where the muted silver-grey check can add quiet pattern without dominating the room. It also works well for relaxed curtains in a pale, layered interior with oak, stone and brushed metal.

Pair with natural oak and chalky linens to let the muted check feel calm and tailored.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
