Boho Velvets Porcelain

Icaria and Boho Velvets VelvetSAF0133-17

Boho Velvets Porcelain is a softly lustrous velvet in a pale icy blue that reads cool and airy at first glance. The pile catches the light with a gentle, frosted sheen rather than a deep reflective gloss.

About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a distinctly tactile, finely ribbed surface that gives the plain colour subtle movement across the cloth. At 765 gsm with 48 threads per cm, it has the substantial handle expected of an upholstery velvet, while the 140 cm usable width makes it practical for larger furnishings. Porcelain is a fresh blue-grey tone with a lightly weathered feel, so it sits between powder blue and soft silver rather than reading as a bright pastel. With no visible pattern repeat, the focus stays on the velvet nap and the way the shade shifts softly in the light.

How to use it

Use this cool porcelain blue on an occasional chair, banquette or tailored sofa to bring clarity to a room without harshness. It pairs especially well with pale woods, chalky whites and deeper navy accents.

A cool pale blue velvet that brings a fresh, softened finish to seating or statement cushions.

Pairs well with

Boho Velvets Porcelain is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
