About this fabric

This Indigo colourway is shown as a plain velvet with a subtle nap, so the surface shifts between dark navy and blue-black as it moves. With a weight of 765gsm and 48 threads per cm, it has the substantial feel expected of a hard-wearing upholstery velvet rather than a light drape cloth. The usable width is 140 cm, giving a practical making-up width for sofas, chairs and cushions. No performance finish is noted, so it is best specified for interiors where the fabric’s natural richness is the focus.

How to use it

Use this cool indigo on a sofa, deep-buttoned chair or ottoman for a tailored, grounded look. It pairs well with pale oak, brushed brass and chalky neutrals that let the velvet’s dark blue depth stand out.
