Toba Lionsmane

Curios Weaves FabricSAF0451-06

Toba in Lionsmane has a compact, woven stripe that reads as warm gold against a soft pale ground. The narrow vertical pattern gives it a disciplined, tailored feel with just enough texture to keep it from feeling flat.

About this fabric

This colourway combines sandy cream, biscuit and lionsmane gold tones in a small-scale vertical stripe, with the pattern broken up by tiny stepped blocks that add movement. The surface looks densely woven and substantial, which suits the supplied 620 gsm weight and makes the cloth feel reassuringly robust. With a usable width of 143 cm and a repeat of 4.5 cm vertically by 7 cm horizontally, it is a practical fabric for measured upholstery work as well as lined curtains where a crisp stripe is wanted. The finish has a dry, textural quality rather than sheen, so the warmer ochre notes sit quietly rather than shouting.

How to use it

Use it on a structured armchair, dining chairs or a bench where the vertical stripe can sharpen the silhouette. Its muted gold-on-cream palette also works well with oak, walnut and earthy neutrals for a smart, layered room.

A warm, textured stripe that adds tailored depth to classic seating or statement drapery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Toba Lionsmane without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
