About this fabric

This plain velvet is supplied at 141 cm usable width and has a substantial 540 gsm weight, giving the cloth a full, upholstered presence. Its warm saffron-gold colour sits between rich yellow and antique gold, with lighter bands appearing where the pile changes direction. The surface has a close, even nap and a soft lustre rather than a sharp shine. With a 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, it can be cut without aligning a design.

How to use it

Use the deep saffron-gold tone on a statement armchair, headboard or bench, pairing it with warm timber, cream upholstery and aged brass for a richly layered scheme. Its changing velvet sheen can also add depth to full drapery in a room that needs a concentrated note of colour.
