Vintage Velvet Ruby is a deep, sumptuous plain velvet with a low sheen and a dark, wine-toned finish. The pile catches the light in soft horizontal flickers, giving the surface a moody, richly layered look.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a saturated ruby burgundy, with near-black depth in the shadows and a restrained glow where the pile lifts. The plain design style keeps the focus on the velvet surface, which looks dense and tactile rather than glossy. Made from 100% polyester, it is specified for contract use and carries a 30,000 Martindale rating, making it well suited to hard-working seating. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and can be wiped clean or professionally dry cleaned in situ, with other treatments available on request.

How to use it

Use this shade on statement armchairs, banquet seating or a tailored sofa where the rich red tone can anchor a room. It pairs well with dark timber, brass details and deep neutral walls for a warm, dramatic scheme.
