About this fabric

This plain velvet from the Vintage Velvet collection is woven in 100% polyester and specified for contract use, with a practical 30,000 Martindale rub test. The surface shows a dense, softly directional pile that catches the light in narrow horizontal sweeps, which helps the rust tone read as layered rather than flat. In this colourway, the shade is a deep, earthy red-brown with a muted copper warmth, making it feel richer and less orange than a brighter rust. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and can be wipe-clean or professionally dry cleaned in situ, with further care guidance in the pattern book.

How to use it

Use this rust velvet on compact armchairs, banquettes, or a tailored headboard where its warm depth can become the focal point. It pairs particularly well with dark timber, aged brass, and soft neutrals that let the colour's low glow stand out.
