About this fabric

This colourway shows a dense, even plain weave with fine vertical slub movement and a lightly brushed feel in the image. The tone is a warm coral red with terracotta undertones, so it looks richer and earthier than a bright orange-red, yet softer than a true rust. Palermo is made from 100% polyester and is intended for General Domestic use, with a Martindale rating of 25,000 for everyday wear. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and can be machine washed at 30 degrees or professionally dry cleaned in situ, subject to the pattern book guidance. The finish catches the light subtly, which helps this spice shade feel lived-in rather than flat.

How to use it

Use Palermo Spice on an armchair, ottoman or banquette if you want a warm focal point without a glossy finish. It pairs well with chalky neutrals, dark timber and muted olive accents, where the coral-terracotta tone can do the talking.

A warm, earthy red that brings easy colour to clean-lined seating and soft furnishings.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
