About this fabric

This colourway reads as a deep, earthy lava red with orange-brown warmth rather than a bright rust, giving the surface a grounded and inviting feel. The close, nubby weave creates a subtle grain that adds visual depth without any pattern distraction, which suits the plain design style. Made from 52% polyester and 48% cotton, it is specified for heavy domestic use and offers a 40,000 Martindale rating, making it well suited to hard-working upholstery. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and after care is professional dry clean in situ, with further guidance in the pattern book.

How to use it

Use Paolo Lava to bring warmth to an armchair, banquette or sofa, especially alongside natural wood, aged brass and muted clay tones. Its earthy terracotta depth also works well against cream or chalky neutrals for a cosier, more grounded room.
