About this fabric

This plain velvet has a dense, touchable pile that gives the surface a low, mottled lustre rather than a flat finish. In this Paprika colourway, the shade sits between burnt red and oxblood, with darker shadowed areas that add depth across the face of the cloth. It is woven in 100% polyester and specified for contract use, with a 30,000 Martindale rating for dependable durability. The fabric is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and after care is wipeable or professional dry clean in situ, with further guidance in the pattern book.

How to use it

Use it on an accent chair, banquette or cinema seating where the warm red-brown tone can anchor the room. It pairs especially well with walnut, brass and dark neutrals, allowing the velvet pile to provide the colour and atmosphere.
