Vintage Velvet Graphite is a deep charcoal velvet with a soft, low-lustre surface and a quietly textured appearance. The tone reads almost black in places, with lighter graphite movement catching the nap.

About this fabric
Vintage Velvet Graphite from J Brown is a plain velvet in 100% polyester, designed for contract use and rated to 30,000 Martindale. This colourway has a cool, smoky graphite character rather than a flat black look, with subtle tonal variation visible across the pile. The surface feels rich and compact, and the light sits gently on it for a restrained matte-sheen finish. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request, and can be wiped clean or professionally dry cleaned in situ.
How to use it
Use this graphite shade on tailored sofas, banquettes or dining chairs where you want depth without shine. It pairs especially well with pale oak, brushed metal and crisp off-whites for a sharp, modern contrast.
Use to give seating a sleek, low-key finish with a subtle velvet sheen.

Pairs well with
Vintage Velvet Graphite is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
